As you get ready to build your custom home, Zephyr knows you may have many questions about the process.

How much does it cost to build my custom home?

Many are familiar with square footage pricing and always ask "How much do you charge per square foot?" As a cost+ builder, that is largely dependent on the selections of the homeowner. Consider two, 2500 square foot homes, identical in size and floor plan.  In one home the homeowner selects luxury appliances, high end solid surfaces, ornate custom trim features, one-of-a-kind selections throughout the home and the list goes on...  Now on the second home, although a very nice finish out, the customer chooses more commodity items, modest appliances, and trim work.  Once complete, the first home will cost much more per square foot than the second.  My job is to work within your budget so the finished project meets your expectations, but does not break the bank.  

What is the process of building a home?

Assuming that you have your blue prints and a plot of land, the soil will be tested and the foundation engineered for the plan structure. Once the ground is prepped and the slab is poured, framing begins. After the walls are up and the roof is on, we will rough in all the mechanicals like water, electric and HVAC. Following the mechanicals, insulation, sheet rock, and cabinets will be installed. Then trim, paint, countertops, and flooring will make their way into your home. Lastly, there will be a final grade then completion. You should expect your home to be complete within six to nine months.

What about financing?

You are free to use any bank you choose, and we will gladly walk your through that process. However, we have relationships with several banks who are familiar with our processes and reputation as a quality home builder. You will start with an interim construction loan based on the budget we established and agreed upon for your home. The construction loan will fund the cost through the building process. Once completed a final mortgage will follow.  

What if I don't have my plans yet? Do you have plans to choose from? 

 Zephyr is a true custom home builder and has never built the same home twice. You will have a true, one-of-a-kind home designed to meet your specific needs. We can assist in referring you to some reputable architects that we have worked with in the past. We will have meetings to discuss your must have's and your wants, and establish a budget for you to secure financing based on those desires. You are in the driver's seat when it come to selections related to types of flooring, trim levels, appliances, doors, granite, and more.
